Delivery: Volunteers may assist with delivery of snacks and drinks to the patients. They may also deliver flowers, mail and magazines.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
Working with youth today means a brighter future for everyone.
Volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club means making a difference in the lives of youth and giving back to the community. Within the first few minutes of walking into a Club, volunteers know they’re in a special place.
Filled with the sounds and energy of spirited children and friendly, caring professionals, the Club is a fun and hopeful environment. Whether volunteers help with homework, coach a game, or teach an art project, volunteers have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with young people eager for adult guidance, and have a positive impact on their lives. In turn, volunteers will find that spending time with young people has a positive impact on them as well.
Mentor: Volunteers may serve as mentors, tutors or in other leadership roles in the classrooms and for different activities.

CASA of North MS
The purpose of CASA of North Mississippi is to train volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children in court proceedings to ensure every child is in a safe and permanent home.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Chamber represents the business community in problem-solving, promoting economic development, raising the per capita income and providing strong financial resources to create a better life for all citizens.
Double Decker Fun Run: Volunteers help prepare information/swag bags for the runners.
Newcomer Club: Volunteers prepare information packets for Newcomer Club members.
Red Carpet Gala: Volunteers may serve as greeters at the Red-Carpet Gala table. (semi-formal attire)
Clerical: Chamber of Commerce may have last minute needs for special events or extra clerical work and may request volunteers for help.
GERTRUDE CASTELLOW FORD CENTER
The Ford Center for the Performing Arts is committed to bringing the highest quality entertainment to its stage.
Ford Center volunteers may serve as ushers, hand out programs, collect tickets and/or work in concessions for various shows and events. Volunteers are recruited and trained at the beginning of the fall semesters.
GIRL SCOUT TROOP 13616
Volunteers assist the troop leaders during Troop activities and special events.
Volunteers will introduce girls to new experiences that show them they’re capable of more than they ever imagined. They’ll each find their inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-Taker, Leader)!
Special programs and activities include:
Valentines for Vets- Host the annual Valentine’s for Veterans. Volunteers and Girl Scouts create hand crafted cards then personally deliver them to the Veteran’s Home.
Drives- Volunteers may assist Girl Scout Troop 13616 with a variety of drives; food drives, supply drives, toy drives, pet drive etc.
HOSPICE ORGANIZATIONS:
Baptist Care Hospice; Enhabit Hospice; Heart of Hospice; Kare-In-Home Hospice
>Hospice volunteers play a vital role in hospice care organizations. They’re able to keep patients company when family and friends are not able to be there, help hospice care organizations with their administrative work, and much more. Volunteers help hospice organizations provide a high level of patient care.
INTERFAITH COMPASSION MINISTRY (ICM)
Interfaith Compassion Ministry (ICM) assists individuals and families through crisis situations by providing for their basic needs: food, shelter, utilities, medications, and transportation.
Client Interaction: Volunteers assist clients with the application process and screening of applications.
JUNIOR LEAGUE of OXFORD
The Junior League of Oxford, is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY LITERACY COUNCIL
As part of the Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) program, volunteers will coach adult learners who need help improving their reading skills for 2 hours each week. 1.5 hours will be spent in one-on-one coaching sessions, with the remaining 30 minutes used for planning the next week’s session. The minimum coaching requirement is six months. Volunteer coaches must complete an online application. Training is provided. Help an adult learner prepare to take the GED: Training is provided, and coaches must commit to working with a learner for two hours each week for six months. Volunteer coaches should be patient and flexible with their learners. Coaches are also expected to have strong skills in at least one of the subjects on the GED: math, science, language arts, and social studies.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
Volunteers will serve as tutors and mentors to students needing assistance. Emphasis is placed on assisting students with reading activities. Volunteers read to students during Dr. Seuss Day in March of each year.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
Volunteers will assist with the reading library for the inmates.
LOVE PACKS
Provides supplemental food for school age children in need on weekends and holidays. Volunteers can help host food drives & organize food packs that will then be discretely placed in backpacks by school employees, at the end of a school day.
MARY CATHEY HEAD START
Volunteers are needed in the classroom to work with the students on pre-literacy skills and to read during Dr. Seuss week.
MEMORY MAKERS
Memory Makers depends on volunteers from the community to meet a variety of program needs. Volunteers are most needed every week from 10-2 to help the program run smoothly.
They also love music, art, and learning about new things, so if you have a special talent or interest, they would be delighted for you to come and share your gifts with them!
MORE THAN A MEAL
Volunteers are needed to serve the meal and other ways to be involved on Tuesday nights include:
Visiting with our guests, tutoring or reading to the children who attend, helping distribute toiletries to guests, playing and supervising children at the meal and on the playground, creating crafts with children, providing programs or talks to the guests, and assisting the host group serve the meal, as needed.
NINE LIVES CAT RESCUE
Volunteers will assist with various needs for rescue cats at PetSmart.
NORTH MS REGIONAL CENTER
Volunteers will be friends to the clients and assist with special projects.
NORTH MS RURAL LEGAL SERVICES
Volunteers are needed to witness wills and assist with registration at their annual conference in Oxford.
OXFORD COMMUNITY MARKET
Volunteers may help with the fresh food drive. Food is purchased from local farmers, donated by market customers and then delivered to the food pantry. Volunteers may also help with special events—Opening Market Day, Pie Contest, Haunted Harvest Market and Holly Jolly Market.
OXFORD EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
Volunteers will be trained to assist with disaster preparedness and response to disasters for the Oxford/Lafayette County community. Volunteers may be trained to assist with vaccination sites.
OXFILM (OFF)
Volunteer Teams:
Year Round/Pre-fest: This includes set up and organization of materials as well as helping with fundraisers, helping with office needs, screening events and more from March-January.
Box Office and Merchandise Sales Teams: This area includes ticket sales, badge check-in, information table, OFF merchandise during the actual festival. Do you have a friendly smile and are great at welcoming people? Then this is the job for you!
Hospitality: This area includes working in or coordinating the Green Room and set up, execution and take down of the film festival parties. We need volunteers to serve, stock and arrange during the festival and also people who would like to get more involved with pre-festival planning.
OXFORD ANIMAL RESOURCE CENTER (ARC)
Assist with a variety of activities with the animals such as providing extra attention, taking the dogs for walks, baths, assisting with the dog/cat food pantry, etc.
Volunteers also make ornaments and help set up the “Angel Tree” at Christmas for the animals at ARC.
OXFORD FIRE DEPARTMENT
Volunteers will assist with special events, such as Fire Academy for Kids.
OXFORD MEDICAL MINISTRIES CLINIC
There are a variety of opportunities available for volunteers. Please call the office for additional information.
OXFORD PARK COMMISSION
Volunteers are needed for various projects for different non-profits. Volunteer opportunities change constantly with this station. Companionship such as wellness check-ins for the elderly or homebound and accompany homebound and isolated elderly to the pharmacy, doctor or assist them with basic errands. “Be a friend to someone that is lonely”.

Volunteers will assist with special events and Camp C.O.P.S.
OXFORD SCHOOL DISTRICT
Volunteers serve as tutors and mentors to students needing assistance with emphasis placed on reading skills. Volunteers read for Dr. Seuss Day in March of each year.
OXFORD/LAFAYETTE COUNTY LIBRARY
Volunteers help in the genealogy room and maintain the “little free libraries” throughout the City and County.
PANTRY
Volunteers will assist with stocking the shelves and assisting people at the pantry.
Packing and delivering of meals for the homebound and with Pantry Data entry.
THEATRE OXFORD
Greet attendees, sell and collect tickets, distribute programs and can serve on various standing committees.
UNITED WAY
Volunteers assist with on-going United Way campaign activities.
UNIVERSITY MUSEUM
Volunteers will assist with summer camps and other special events.
VETERANS AFFAIRS HOME
Volunteers will assist with special activities, parties, provide socialization and companionship, visiting, and reading.
VISIT OXFORD
Volunteers serve as Oxford Ambassadors for special events as needed.
